Processing Services

All prices below are standard rates per pound on finished weight unless otherwise noted. Introductory discount is applied separately.

Washing – Standard

Most in-the-grease wools and average dirt fleeces. $12/lb. for extremely dirty or greasy fleeces and wash-only services.

Picking

The picking machine opens up locks to prepare them for carding. Blending can be done at this stage.

Carding

Aligns fibers and can be made into loose roving, batts, or cloud roving. Blending can also be done at this stage.

Standard ($13/lb.): Medium/coarse wools that are clean, have crimp, aren’t matted and have average staple length.
Fine ($15/lb.): Fine/medium fibers, dual coats, excess vegetable matter and any extra attention issues.
Super Fine ($17/lb.): Super fine wools that must be run very thinly or very slowly through the card.

Pin Drafting

The pin drafter further combs and aligns the fibers and arranges them into a nice coil.

Standard ($8/lb.): Wools with average staple length and good strength.
Special ($10/lb.): Wools with short staple length, minimal crimp or for special adjustments including pencil roving or the addition of fibers like nylon or silk.

Additional Pricing Notes

Skirting services are available for a $35 flat fee per fleece. However, we encourage you to skirt fleeces before dropping off or shipping whenever possible to avoid this fee.

Fleeces with excessive vegetable matter (VM) or unusual processing requirements may incur additional fees.

Return shipping and sales tax are not included. Please let us know if you have sales tax exemption.
